KCT Abstract LLC (“KCT”) may collect and use non-public information about you in our endeavor to provide to the best service that is possible.  KCT respects your privacy and we strive to minimize the use of that information.  In most instances, the information is used by KCT to issue title insurance reports and policies.  As a title insurance agent however, we may share your information with our underwriters and the use of that information is subject to the underwriter’s sharing policy.  

 

YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION - KCT Abstract LLC may collect non-public personal data such as your name, address, social security number, tax identification number, email address, Internet Protocol address, credit report, age and gender. This information is typically submitted to KCT by you, real estate brokers, attorneys, lenders, government agencies and is transmitted to KCT verbally or is depicted in forms such as title insurance applications, affidavits, reports based upon government data, loan applications or credit reports or may be transmitted to KCT through its website.

 

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION - From time to time, we may find it necessary to disclose your information to the following recipients:

 

To lenders, lien holders, judgment creditors, or other parties claiming an encumbrance or an interest in title whose claim or interest must be determined, settled, paid or released prior to a title or escrow closing.

 

To insurance agents, brokers, representatives, support organizations, or others to provide you with services you have requested, and to enable us to detect or prevent criminal activity, fraud, material misrepresentation, or nondisclosure in connection with an insurance transaction;

 

To third-party contractors or service providers for the purpose of determining your eligibility for an insurance benefit or payment and/or providing you with services you have requested;

 

To an insurance regulatory authority, or a law enforcement or other governmental authority, in a civil action, in connection with a subpoena or a governmental investigation.

 

We may also disclose your Personal Information to others when we believe, in good faith, that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or to protect the safety of our customers, employees, or property and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION - We restrict access to Personal Information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.
